Shannon Ingrey, APAC General Manager at BigCommerce

LAS VEGAS – March 4, 2019 – BigCommerce, the leading SaaS ecommerce platform for fast-growing and established brands, today announced that Shannon Ingrey has joined the company as General Manager of APAC, based out of the company’s Sydney office. With more than 15 years of global ecommerce experience, Ingrey will lead BigCommerce’s APAC operations, including oversight of all local marketing and sales activities as well as working to grow the business in the region.

Ingrey joins BigCommerce from shipping platform Shippit, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer. Prior to Shippit, Ingrey spent nearly five years as the APAC General Manager for Bronto Software, managing local operations during its acquisitions by Netsuite and then Oracle in 2016. In that time, Ingrey oversaw the development of Sales, Customer Success, Channels, Professional Services and Support, and grew the business to more than 100 mid-market and enterprise-level customers.

“Shannon’s experience as a leader and his passion for the ecommerce space made him the perfect fit for this role at BigCommerce. He has a genuine interest in the ecommerce industry and where it’s heading, and is a strong asset to our growing APAC business,” said Brent Bellm, CEO for BigCommerce. “I look forward to working with Shannon as we continue to expand our business, customers, employees and partners in the region.”

A big believer in “best of breed” technology stacks and platform customisation, Ingrey intends to use his passion for high quality cloud technology and customer satisfaction to further strengthen BigCommerce’s relationships with existing customers and partners, as well as develop new relationships in the region.

“I’ve watched the team at BigCommerce deliver a highly functional, truly open SaaS platform that rivals enterprise grade solutions over the past few years. The power of the platform, packaged specifically for mid-market and rapidly growing businesses, brings sophistication to this segment of the market that hasn’t been seen before from any other platform," said Ingrey. “As the fastest growing ecommerce region in the world, the opportunity to shape BigCommerce’s presence in APAC was one that I couldn’t pass up.”

Ingrey’s appointment follows a raft of recent company milestones in APAC, including the February appointment of Dene Schonknecht as Director of Asia. BigCommerce has also welcomed new customers including Kyocera, Sandro Paris and Maje Paris, and Brown Forman, on top of the company’s entry into the Singapore market in February.
