About the App

Most stores put their SEO budget into blogs and landing pages while the pages that carry the revenue — every product, category and brand page — stay exactly as the feed delivered them. Descriptions match every other distributor's. Metadata is partial. Alt text is missing.

CataSEO asks Moz which pages hold the top ten for a given product, category or brand, and what is putting them there. It then writes to that standard: original descriptions in your brand voice, plus the page titles, meta descriptions, search keywords, Open Graph fields and image alt text that decide how a page is understood. At catalog scale, in batches, on a schedule you set.

It writes your blog too: posts built from the products and categories you choose, with internal links to them and original imagery.

Setup starts by reading your own catalog and describing your store back to you, so the first draft already sounds like you.

Nothing reaches your storefront without your approval. Every field is shown beside your current copy, to accept, edit or reject, and any product reverts to its previous version in one click. A monthly report tracks domain authority, backlinks and ranking keywords.

App Features

Original Descriptions, SEO Metadata and Image Alt Text

CataSEO writes descriptions that say what the product actually is, who it is for and how it compares — in your brand voice, not the manufacturer's paragraph every other store is also publishing. Category and brand pages get the same treatment, not just individual SKUs. Each one arrives with its page title, meta description, search keywords, Open Graph fields and image alt text filled in: the fields that decide how a page is read by search engines and AI assistants, and the ones most likely to be blank.

Written Against the Pages Currently Outranking You

Before a word is written, CataSEO identifies the ten pages ranking for that product, category or brand and the keywords carrying them, and writes to that standard. Most AI writers generate in a vacuum. This one knows what it is competing with.

Blog Posts Written From Your Own Catalog

Pick the products and categories a post should cover, choose from ideas CataSEO proposes, and it writes the post grounded in your own product data — with internal links to the products you picked, original imagery, and structured data referencing them. Posts are created as drafts; publishing is always a separate, deliberate step. It reviews the posts you already have too, suggesting replacements for the title, meta description and keywords that you accept one at a time — and a certification, compliance or rating it cannot ground is dropped rather than suggested.

Work at Your Own Pace, or Set It and Forget It

Optimize a single product on demand with Express Tokens when something new goes live, or subscribe to 50, 100 or 250 products a month and let batches run on schedule. Most merchants use both.

Field-by-Field Review, and One-Click Rollback

Every suggestion appears beside your current copy. Accept a field, edit it, or keep what you had; approve one at a time or all at once. Descriptions can be edited as rich text or raw HTML, and your existing markup is protected. Any product reverts to its previous version in one click.

Case Studies

ScandinavianShoppe.com

ScandinavianShoppe.com launched in 2009 with the goal of becoming the #1 online retailer for Scandinavian-themed gifts in the U.S. Knowing they had competitors to overcome, they undertook the painstaking task of creating original content and metadata for every product and every image. Over time, they built a catalog of more than 7,000 items, all with original content.

That strategy paid off. For years they held roughly 540 top-10 ranked keywords in Google, driving steady traffic with only modest PPC spend. But over the past five years, with competition intensifying and less than 10% of the catalog being refreshed annually, their rankings steadily slipped.

Facing the task of rewriting 7,000 product descriptions, they tried the latest general AI tools — which produced beautiful copy, but copy that was never tested against what actually ranks, and still left hundreds of hours of work ahead.

Working with CataSEO, they optimized, reviewed and approved their entire catalog in about six weeks — and their top-10 keywords climbed from roughly 540 to 639. Then came the lesson: left alone, a one-time refresh decays. Since moving to weekly optimization with CataSEO in February 2026, their total ranking keywords are up 32% — the first sustained climb in three years.

Today they use CataSEO to optimize every new product as it's added while refining portions of the existing catalog each month.
